FAQ
Questions before you request a quote?
Here's what homeowners most often ask before requesting a flooring quote.
General Questions
No. Fairways Flooring is a referral service. We match your project with a vetted, local flooring installer who handles the actual measurement, materials, and installation.
Questions by Flooring Type
Carpet Installation
Most single-room installs wrap up in a few hours; a full-home job is typically finished in one to two days depending on square footage and whether old flooring needs removal.
Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) Flooring
Quality rigid-core and WPC luxury vinyl plank is fully waterproof at the surface and core level, making it a strong match for kitchens, mudrooms, and basements — always confirm the exact product spec with your installer.
Hardwood Flooring
Solid hardwood suits main-level rooms over a wood subfloor, while engineered hardwood handles basements, concrete slabs, and Utah's humidity shifts more predictably. Your installer will assess your subfloor before recommending either.
Laminate Flooring
Laminate uses a wood-fiber core topped with a printed, wear-resistant layer — it's very budget-friendly but not waterproof. LVP costs a bit more but stands up to moisture, which matters more in kitchens and basements.
Tile Flooring
Porcelain is denser and more water-resistant, making it a strong choice for showers and high-moisture areas. Ceramic is generally more budget-friendly and works well for walls and lighter-traffic floors.
